Important COVID Information for Grand Council

Prior to picking up registration materials at GGC, everyone will first need to stop  at the Covid check-in table to show proof of Covid vaccination or a negative Covid test within the past 72 hours.  At check-in you will be given a set of color coded wrist bands – one for each day at GGC. You will need to wear your wrist band at all times. If you do not have a wrist band you will be expected to go through Covid check-in.

To expedite your check in time, please email or text Brenda Hanson-Smith, proof of vaccination. She can be reached at 916-835-1222 or bhansonsmith@gmail.com.  Using this method, there will be an envelope waiting for you with your 3 wrist bands and you will only need to stop and pick it up on the way to registration.  If you don’t send in your proof prior to Grand Council, you will need to go through the Covid Check In and show your proof of vaccination before picking up your Registration packet.

For those who are unvaccinated they will need to do a daily Covid self test. The self tests can be purchased at several drug stores, Walmart and Target. They will need to bring the completed test with them each morning and check in at the Covid desk to pick up their daily wrist band.

The Covid check-in table will be open about 1 hour before the start of Thursday and Friday sessions as well as Saturday prior to installation.  More information provide below:


Update – October 15, 2021 – We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Ontario for Grand Guardian Council. The Grand Line with the advice of our Pandemic Task Force have established the following guidelines to be followed for our session on November 11-13, 2021.

Upon arrival, please start at the COVID Check In before proceeding to registration.

  • Temperature checks
  • Proof of vaccination
  • If not vaccinated, a negative COVID test is required within the past 72 hours for the first day of checking in.
    • After day one, proof of a negative Self Rapid Test is required daily. (Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Antigen Self Test Kit can be purchased at CVS, Walgreens or any drug store for $23.99.)

We will also be social distancing and masking throughout the event. Attendees are encouraged to stay home if feeling ill or if exposed to a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19.

Wrist bands with the correct day/color must be worn for entrance into session. In order to expedite your COVID Check In, please submit your proof of vaccination to Dr. Brenda Hansen-Smith at bhansonsmith@gmail.com. Your wrist bands for each day will be ready for you to pick up at the COVID Check In table.

Update 11-7-21 – Bethel Daughters will not be allowed to attend GGC.  The only exception being made is for the Grand Bethel Officers and the daughters/children of the Incoming Grand Officers on Saturday only. Those Daughters/children/parents will need to sign all the forms in advance.  

Update – October 1, 2021 – We are still planning for an in-person GGC Session, following all guidelines from state/county/local officials as well as the Board of Trustees. No Bethel daughters will be in attendance on Thursday or Friday.
